Ken Henderson - President

Ken Henderson is a foundation member of the Australian Technical Analysts (APTA) Inc and is a past National President of the Australian Technical Analysts Association.

He has a substantial history in the financial services industry, successfuly managing portfolios in the superannuation sector. 

Ken specialises in the analysis and trading of resource stocks.

Ken is also a co-author of the book Charting for Dummies.

Regina Meani - Vice President

Regina is a freelance consultant in market analysis; her work includes report writing for research companies and broking houses with regular columns in the financial press and she often appears in other media forums. 

Her company provides private tutoring and larger seminars, training investors and traders in market psychology, CFD and share trading and Technical Analysis. Prior to this she was an Associate Director and Chief Technical Analyst for Deutsche Bank’s Australian Equities Division.  

She has lectured for FINSIA, Sydney University and the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) and is the author of the book Charting, An Australian Investor’s Guide.

Regina is a Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) and is a foundation member and the immediate past President of the Australian Professional Technical Analysts (APTA). She is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Australian Technical Analysts Association and has belonged to the Society of Technical Analysts, UK (STA) for nearly thirty years (MSTA).  Regina is a Director of The International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA) and Committee Chair and Editor for the IFTA Journal. 

David Hunt - Vice President

David is a former President and a foundation member of the Australian Professional Technical Analysts Inc.

He is the principal of ADEST, a firm which provides education services to participants in the financial services industry.

He was previously a proprietary trader for Macquarie Bank and Forex Treasury Manager for Qantas.

He has 23 years trading experience in forex, options, shares and CFDs.

David regularly appears on the Your Money, Your Call program on the Australian Sky News Business Channel on TV.

Michael Samerski

Michael has over 20 years experience in the Software Development Industry with 8 years experience in Electronics and Systems Engineering, and 13 years experience in Software Development in the Financial Services Industry.

In the Financial Services Industry he has had roles with companies such as:

    * Dow Jones Markets (formerly Telerate),
    * Merrill Lynch Australia,
    * Susquehanna Asia,
    * AMP Capital Investors,
    * Macquarie Bank.

These roles have included:

    * Business Systems Analysis (Trading and Portfolio Management Systems),
    * Trading and Portfolio Management Systems Development (Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives),
    * Head of Technology - Asia Region.

As Head of Technology he was the Systems Architect and Development and Production Services Manager of a high speed, distributed, trading platform that enabled the business to trade the Asia region. The technology developed was later adopted by the company’s offices globally.

Michael currently owns and manages a Trading System Development and Consulting company and a Proprietary Trading company.

He is the author of HistoryMaker™, a software application to assist in Monte Carlo Simulation of automated trading systems.

 

The APTA Board of Management controls and manages the affairs of the Association.

Larry Lovrencic - Secretary

Larry Lovrencic is a trader, a teacher, an author, an international speaker and has appeared several times on television as a guest on the Your Money, Your Call program on the Sky News Business Channel.

He
is a founding member and a former Vice President of the Australian Professional Technical Analysts (APTA) Inc and is a Life Member, a former member of the Board of Directors and a former National Vice President of the Australian Technical Analysts Association (ATAA). Larry is also an Affiliate Member of the Market Technicians Association (MTA), which is based in New York.

He has more than 20 years experience trading financial markets and more than 10 years experience in teaching Technical Analysis.

Larry is a Director of and a Financial Markets Strategist for Delta Capital Markets, a private and actively managed investment fund.

Larry is also an Executive Director of First Pacific Securities which provides financial markets research and educational services to participants in the financial services industry. For a number of years he was the editor of the Institutional FX and Institutional Equities publications.

Larry holds the Diploma in Technical Analysis awarded by the Australian Technical Analysts Association (ATAA) and has also been awarded the designation of Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) by the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA).

Larry is a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA), holds the Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, chairs the Advisory Committee for the 9063 (formerly E171) Specialised Techniques in Technical Analysis subject offered by Kaplan Higher Education (Australia), lectures for and chairs the Fin231 Technical Analysis subject offered by Kaplan and regularly presents Technical Analysis seminars to members of the financial services industry in South East Asia.

He was a member of the Board of Directors of the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA) for 9 years, was the Chair of IFTA's Accreditation Committee, Chair of IFTA's Membership Committee and Vice-Chair of IFTA’s Education and Body of Knowledge Committees. Larry is also the co-author of IFTA's Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) Level 1 examinations.

Larry is also the co-author of two books, Charting for Dummies and FX Trading : An Australian Guide to Trading Foreign Exchange.

John Gajewski - Treasurer

John has more than 20 years experience in Technical Analysis and the foreign exchange, fixed interest and commodity markets and is a foundation member of the Australian Professional Technical Analysts (APTA) Inc.

Working with the Commonwealth Bank  over that time he produced the successful Chartpoints commentaries, providing analysis and recommendations on forex, bonds and commodities to the bank's traders and sales staff, institutional, corporate and business clients.

In 2002 he was rated the best technical analyst on currencies in Sydney.

John has also been an active participant in Technical Analysis education, working with the Australian Technical Analysis Association, the Securities Institute of Australia (SIA) and FINSIA (now Kaplan Professional) in developing and running Technical Analysis courses.

John has 20 years experience in Technical Analysis and the foreign exchange, fixed interest and commodity markets.
